George Rodez was born in Manhattan, New York. Due to an illness in his family, he was sent to Havana, Cuba to live with his grandparents. He returned to live with his parents in Miami, Florida in 1960, where he has lived ever since.
Rodez is a self-taught artist whose strength is his diversity. His passion for art started at the age of thirteen. He has displayed his work in museums and galleries nationally and internationally: Soho, New York, Washington, D.C., Germany, Italy and Switzerland among others. He has been featured in several newspapers, television shows and news segments..
In 2005, Rodez was invited to participate in the Biennale Internazionale dell' Arte Contemporanea held in Florence, Italy, and to the Pagès Espai d'Art Gallery in Barcelona, Spain for a solo exhibition. Additionally, in 2005, the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs awarded Rodéz an Artist Enhancement grant to promote his art internationally.
