Coral Gables, FL Just in time for South Florida’s highly anticipated mango season, miArte Gallery invites you to join them for the opening of their summer exhibition A Well Dressed Mango featuring twenty-one noted South Florida artists. The show will open on Friday, July 7 in conjunction with Coral Gables Gallery Night and will be on exhibit through August 26.
In 1986 award winning author, Joan Didion wrote Miami. In her book she refers to Miami’s new found glamour and "hotness". Didion reflects on a particular charity event that she attended where the women were so perfectly coifed and accessorized - that even though most were dressed in shades of gray or black "the effect remained lush, tropical like a room full of perfectly groomed mangoes".
Inspired by the imagery and vividness of this passage and South Florida’s Mango season, miArte Gallery invited twenty-one noted South Florida artists to participate in their first summer group show, A Well Dressed Mango. The artists were challenged to bring their artistic interpretation of the phrase "A Well Dressed Mango" to life using their unique art forms. Reading of the book was not required only bold colorful palettes and brilliant and creative interpretations.
Participating artists include: Ana Maria Sarlat, Asandra, Armando Tejuca, Augusto Sanchez, Bernardo Cueto, Cesar Santalo, Dania Sierra , George Rodez, Hanz Ramirez, Israel Guevara, Jacqueline Roch, Lidia Godoi, MANO, Mari Sanchez, Marcy Grosso, Maru Carreras, Matty Marcos, Sandra Suarez, Tadeo, Tony Mendoza and Wolff. 
The exhibition, A Well Dressed Mango will be on view through August 26.
miArte Gallery is located at 85 Merrick Way, one block north of Miracle Mile and west of Douglas Road.
Gallery Hours: Monday-Friday 11:00 am - 7:00 pm, Saturday 10:00 am - 5:00 pm and after hours by appointment.
